OU Club of Dallas Scholarships
The 2012 Scholarship recipients are announced on the Award Winners page. 2013 scholarship info is available below.
About Our Scholarships:
Academic Scholarships are one-year awards, in the amount of $5,000 per awarded year ($2,500 per semester). Each semester's award consists of $1,250 which can only be applied to out-of-state tuition (known as a tuition fee waiver), and $1,250 that can be used for any expenses.
General Eligibility Requirements:
Students must be full-time undergraduate students from the greater Dallas/North Texas area: Dallas, Denton, Collin, Rockwall, Kaufman or Ellis Counties. Additionally, students must be classified as non-residents by the University. Students who receive scholarships that fully waive out-of-state tuition (for example, National Scholars programs) are not eligible for OU Club of Dallas scholarships.
Junior / Senior Applicants
Applicants must be major-declared OU students at the Norman or Health Science Center Campus. Preference will be given to students classified by OU as Juniors or 4th-year Seniors at the beginning of the Fall semester, but other students may apply as well. Our selection process is based on the following information: campus and community involvement, GPA, letter of recommendation, personal statement, and financial need.
The 2013 application is now available here.
The scholarship application may be submitted by email to Scholarship@ouclubofdallas.com, dropped off at the Alumni Office (Oklahoma Memorial Union Suite 427) or by mail: OU Club of Dallas, Attn: Scholarship, 2807 Allen St. #840, Dallas, Texas 75204. The application deadline is March 1, 2013.
Freshman Applicants
Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or have completed less than two years at a community or junior college and never been enrolled full-time at a four-year institution. Our selection process is based on the following information: class standing, test scores, GPA, school activities, non-school activities, letter of recommendation, personal statement, and financial need. Please note that we do not accept transcripts via Docufide or any other transcript distribution service.
Step 1: Complete the Freshman Scholarship Section of the University of Oklahoma Undergraduate Application for Admission. Online application instructions are available at https://ssb.ou.edu/pls/PROD/bwskalog.P_DispLoginNon
If you have already applied for admission, you do not need to repeat this step.
Step 2: In late January and mid February, the University will send emails to all admitted students who meet eligibility requirements at the email address you provided to create your online application account. The email will ask you to provide a letter of recommendation from a non-related adult who knows you well, such as a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, principal, or employer. Follow the instructions for submitting the letter. This information is due by March 1, 2013.
If you have not received the email from the University by February 15, 2013 and you feel that you do meet eligibility requirements, please contact scholarship@ouclubofdallas.com
The Scholarship Committee will use the information you provided on the Freshman Scholarship Section of the Application for Admission as well as the letter of recommendation to make their selections.
Step 3: The Scholarship Committee will contact finalists in early April to schedule interviews.
